University College Boat Club (UCBC), Oxford

Welcome to the website of the University College Boat Club, Oxford. The boat club is here to provide rowing facilities to the members of the University College, Oxford. We are the oldest society in college, having been founded in 1827.

UCBC is a competitive club among the Oxford/Cambridge rowing clubs and nationally. The Men's and Women's First VIIIs are currently 11th and 4th on the River in Summer Eights regatta respectively. The Men's and Women's first and second Eights also compete in several national events each year. UCBC prides itself in being extremely friendly and inclusive. We are by far the biggest society in the college, having nearly 100 active members each year.

We are fortunate enough to train at our own multi million pound boathouse, built in 2007, which has 3 world class boat bays, weights and indoor rowing room plus an amazing club room.

Most members of UCBC, similar to any other college in Oxford or Cambridge, have never rowed before coming to Univ, and learn to row with us. Have a look at our novice rowing section or get in touch with the captains, if you are interested in learning to row.

Experienced rowers are also a regular at UCBC. We have had olympians, world champions and blues rowers and coxswains train and race with us in the past. Please do get in touch with the captains or president if you are thinking of applying to Oxford and have any questions.

The club is dependent on the generous donations of our old members (Friends of UCBC) to stay competitive. Without their support UCBC would not be where it is today. If you are thinking of donating to the club, you can read further about our targets here or get in touch with the president. As always, we are extremely grateful for the support of our old members.
